Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Newsfable when you use the service.
Effective: May 20, 20261. Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Newsfable (the “Service”), provided by Newsfable (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, clicking a magic-link, receiving a newsletter you configured, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
3. Your account
You authenticate using passwordless magic links sent to the email address you provide. You are responsible for:
- Keeping access to that email account secure.
- The activity that occurs under your account.
- Promptly notifying us of any unauthorised use.
You may not share your account with another person.
4. The service
Newsfable generates daily personalised email newsletters based on the configuration you create. Each newsletter:
- Uses a retrieval pipeline (the Podcast RAG API) that searches public podcast transcripts.
- Sends the retrieved excerpts and your prompt to a large-language-model provider that produces a summary.
- Is emailed daily to the destination address on the newsletter, at the local time you configured.
You can edit, pause, or delete any newsletter at any time, and you can send a test issue to yourself before daily scheduled delivery.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes the rights of others.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk email or otherwise spam the destination address.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or the underlying infrastructure.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the Service except as expressly permitted.
- Use the Service to build a competing product or to train a competing AI model.
- Circumvent rate limits, security controls, or other restrictions.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Free service
Newsfable is currently provided free of charge. There are no subscription fees, automatic charges, or newsletter-count limits.
We may modify or discontinue the free service with reasonable notice.
7. AI-generated content
Newsletters are generated by automated retrieval and large-language-model summarisation. They may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or hallucinated facts. You should:
- Treat newsletter content as a starting point, not a verified source.
- Verify any factual claim against the underlying episode before relying on it for decisions.
- Use the included timestamps and links to listen to the source moments where accuracy matters.
We do not warrant that any newsletter is accurate, complete, or current.
8. Third-party podcasts
Newsfable indexes publicly available podcast transcripts and episode metadata from third-party shows and publishers. We do not host, redistribute, or modify the original audio. Each newsletter links back to the source episode (for example, Apple Podcasts or the publisher's audio URL) so listeners reach the original work. All trademarks and show titles belong to their respective owners.
If you are a rights-holder and believe an excerpt in Newsfable exceeds fair use or violates your rights, contact us at [email protected] and we will review promptly.
9. Intellectual property
The Service. We own the Service, the Newsfable name and logo, the design, and the software. These Terms do not grant you any rights to that intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as intended.
Your inputs. You own the newsletter configurations, prompts, and notes you create. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to process those inputs as needed to operate the Service (for example, to send them to our retrieval pipeline and language-model provider in order to produce your newsletter).
Your newsletters. The issues we generate for you are for your personal or internal use. You may not republish them at scale or claim them as your own original reporting; cite Newsfable and the underlying podcasts where appropriate.
10. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not provide a formal uptime guarantee. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, third-party outages (for example, our LLM provider), or events outside our control.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account by contacting us.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if we are required to do so by law. We will give reasonable notice where practical.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, arising out of or in connection with the Service.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100).
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claim arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or the rights of a third party.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via the dashboard before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Newsfable is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for disputes is the courts of that jurisdiction, unless a non-waivable consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
